PC# <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO REOPEN RECRUITMENT <br /> PROCESS FOR A CIVIL ENGINEER II <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />,Background <br /> <br />At the May 13, 2003 City Council meeting, the City Council authorized staff to begin the <br />recruitment process for a Civil Engineer II position. The position was advertised and <br />staff, received four applications. Upon interviewing all four applicants, staff offered the <br />position to a candidate who refused the offer based on the benefits package. A second <br />candidate refused the position based on compensation. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />After a review of the City's compensation plan and .the 2003 Stanton Salary Survey, staff <br />is recommending that the salary for the Civil Engineer II position be increased to a <br />maximum of $57,500 from $55,000.
