I I I PUBLIC HEARING Case #3: 1993 Annual Street Maintenance Program City Engineer Jankowski stated this public hearing scheduled is for a series of street projects, r The purpose of a street maintenance program is to protect the people's investment in their sixeets. There arc nine projects total; seven include crack filling and sealcoating and two include overlays. Overlays cost about four times more than sealcoating. The projects will be set up in contract form and bid by local contractors. They will be assessed on a per unit basis. Mayor Gilbertson adjourned the regular meeting at 8:08 p.m. in order to conduct the followin$ public hearing: 1) 1993 Annual Street Maintenance Program Mayor Gilbertson called the regular meeting back to order at 8:30 p.m. I Case #4: Grading and Paving Improvement of Bison Improvement Projects 092-20 and 092-23 Street N.W., City Engineer Jankowski stated that at the last City Council meeting, public hearings were held for Improvement Project g92-20 and 092-23 which are the grading and paving plans of Bisor~ Street N.W. The public hearing for the northern part of Bison Street (Project 092-20) Was officially closed. Mr. Jankowski stated he was directed to modify the study so the improvement for thc southern part (Improvement Project g02-23) would include a eul-de-sao terminating approximately 350 feet north of thc Section 9 Half Section Line. The cul-de-sac will be paved with a 32 foot radius which would alleviate the need for acquiring additional right-of-way beyond the existing four rods. It is also proposed that 171st Avenue N.W. between Bison Street N.W. and Zeolite Street N.W. be removed to reduce traffic in Golden Eagle Estates. The existing pavement west of the west line of Golden F..agle Estates would be removed and bollards placed across the width of the right- of-way t0~prevent vehicle access. The bollards and an eight foot bituminous path would still allow pcdcsfrian access.
