I <br />I$ <br />I <br /> I <br /> ! <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />I$ <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Rams~ y City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, August 24, 1993 at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding a proposed renaming of 153rd Avenue N.W. and Sunfish Lake Drive N.W. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor James Gilbertson <br /> Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> Councilmember Glen Hardin <br /> Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Pinance Officer Jessie Hart <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Project Manger James Gromberg <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the public hearing to order at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTFATION <br /> <br />Project, ,M~,nager Gromberg stated that the City of Ramsey is considering changing the <br />name of 153rd Avenue N.W. as it is currently scheduled to become an arterial roadway <br />across the Ientire City. The name should be changed to reflect crosstown usage. The City <br />is considering changing the name of Sunfish Lake Drive N.W. as it is easy to confuse it <br />with Sunfl~ h Lake Boulevard N.W. Mr. Gromberg stated an article requesting suggestions <br />for names ~as published in the Ramsey Resident. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Lowell Vasseur stated he owns real estate in the City of Ramsey. He stated that the map <br />publishediin the Ramsey Resident with the article asking for street name suggestions <br />showed the 153rd Avenue N.W. connection to be in existence at the present time even <br />though it does not exist. <br /> <br />City Admipistrator Schroeder stated that the reason the road is shown that way is because it <br />is shown that way in the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Vasseur felt that was giving a false impression to the residents. <br /> <br />~ Public <br /> <br />Hearing/153 & Sunfish Lake Drive Name Change <br /> City Council/August 24, 1993 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
