I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I

I
I
I
I
I
I
!
i
!

CITIZEN INPUT

Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that a letter was received from Production Design
Products,~Ine. expressing their concerns about the way Danny's Tranny's is operated.

Jerry Matin, 14021 Basalt Street N.W., Ramsey, stated that he has heard this same thing
time after~ time for quite some time; promises but no delivery. He stated that three weeks
ago, he noticed there was quite an effort begun to clean up the area again; however, prior to
that the road had not been policed and there was debris all over. It was basically the "same
old thing". Past history has shown what is promised is not fulfilled and it has been this
way for fOur or five years. The conditional use permit issued for Lots 2, 3 and 4 has not
been adhered to. He felt that Mr. Karst's excuses do not rectify or clarify anything. He
felt that if Mr. Karst was given more time, a year from now the City will be going through
this exact~same process. Mr. Martin stated his property is for sale and that each interested
party doesn't come back because of the condition of Mr. Karst's property. He added that
he is not against Danny, only the way he operates his business.

Doug Hanson, 14040 Azurite Street N.W., Ramsey, stated that it seems this conversation
has been ~curring on a continuing basis. He felt that an industrial area was not a "nursery
area" and, it was not expected to be beautiful. He suggested that the businesses that want a
"nursery"!type :setting, should move to a different area.

Mayor Gilbertson stated he is disgusted that this case is reoccurring. It's a waste of the
taxpayers money and a waste of Ms. Frolik's time. He felt Council and Staff is trying to
make the!City of Ramsey a better place to live and run a business and it is frustrating to
have all file junk here. He agreed that promises are made by Mr. Karst and never kept.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to close the
public hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Peterson, Hardin
and ZimmCrman. Voting No: None.

The public hearing adjourned at 7:34 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

City Administrator

Public Hearing/Danny's Tranny's/City Council/December 14, 1993
Page 2 of 2
