<br />Background:
<br />
<br />Early last y~ar ithe Budget Committee directed Staff to review and, where possible, reduce
<br />the hours/expen,tlitures for legal and consulting engineering services in 1991.
<br />The final n mb~rs are now available and the City's General Fund legal expenses for 1991
<br />total $36,476. This is $23,616 or 36% less than 1990 expenditures. With the exception of the
<br />Adult Bookstore.lawsuits, all general fund legal services were provided by Randall, Dehn and
<br />Goodrich. Thrre detailed expenditures below are for Randall, Dehn and Goodrich.
<br />
<br />The City's G'Jenefal Fund consulting engineering costs for 1991 total $28,233. This is $91,232
<br />or 76% less~tha~n 1990. Services during 1990 and 1991 were provided by Hakanson Anderson
<br />Associates,
