Franchise fees?), the Budget Committee may want to review the City s policy <br />on shari0g c~)sts for the street program. If the City is sharing at the 50% level and this cost is then <br />levied attaint the entire tax base, the same net result to the taxpayer could be achieved by full <br />assessmOnt ~ the benefiting property owners (previous policy) or the City paying for 100% of the <br />programiant~ funding same from a specific debt service levy or from the General Fund - as dollars <br />are avail~blel- <br />Recom~aen~ation: <br />Staff rcqon~ends that the 1992 Street Maintenance Program be approved by the Budget <br />Committ~ee ~ to the financing source. <br /> <br />Budget tCo.mmittee Action: <br /> <br />Motion t0 reCommend/not recommend that Council approve the funding source for the City's share <br />of the 1~2 Street Maintenance Program.
