Case #4 By: City Special Revenue Fund #233 DNR Grant Fund Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer Background This fund,, established in 1991, is used to account for all revenues and expenditures ~for grants awarded to the City of Ramsey by the DNR. To date the City has bee~ awarded three grants that will be accounted for in this fund. The first ~is ithe Community Tree Planting Grant which is nearing completion as to expending ithe $4,975.00 grant funds for trees; however, the City's in-kind is a thre~ year program comprised of staff time and equipment costs. Bruce Bacon is drur~ently preparing a status report on this program° The second is a Federal Challenge Grant administered by the DNR for a Comprehen~iv~ Community Forestry Plan. This program is in process. It includes ~ t~ee inventory, development of an Oak Wilt Program, and review of the City is tree related ordinances. The maximum grant reimbursement is $5,000.00iNo~expenditures for this grant have been made as of September 30, 1992. The third and last grant achieved to date is for the Oak Wilt Suppression Grant which has just been approved. This grant is basically a 50-50 grant wherein the :City is eligible for up to $33,250.00 in grant dollars, and expenditures iby the City, homeowners and developers for Oak Wilt Suppression qualify as the in-kind. During October we have received several applications for inspections from residents, but the weather will most likely limit 1992 efforts somewhat. No expenditures have been incurred as of September 30, 1992.
