<br />Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-10-274 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM PLACES TO WORK TO <br />PLACES TO SHOP, AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO <br />THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE <br />PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 1,2007, the City of Ramsey received an application from Mike Wayman of <br />Sunfish Lake Development, LLC (the "Property Owner") requesting an amendment to the Comprehensive <br />Plan to change the future land use designation from Places to Work to Places to Shop for the following <br />legally described property: <br /> <br />Lot 1, Block 1, GATEWAY NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK PLAT NO. 3 <br /> <br />-or upon plat recording- <br /> <br />Lot 1, Block 1, SUNFISH LAKE DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2001 shows the Subject Property designated <br />land use as Places to Work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property owners are requesting that the Subject Property designated land use be <br />changed to Places to Shop; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the development occurring in the vicinity of the Subject Property consists of <br />primarily industrial, but also commercial, low and medium density residential; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, development of the Subject Property with commercial versus industrial uses would! <br />would not be appropriate, given its location at the intersection of two County roads, the amount of traffic <br />on adjacent roadways, and the proximity to residential property; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on August 2, 2007, conducted a public <br />hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the Property Owner's request for an <br />amendment to the Comprehensive Plan, contingent upon developing the property in accordance with the <br />site plan approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the request for a land use designation change of the <br />Subject Property from Places to Work to Places to Shop for the subject property, contingent upon <br />developing Lot 1, Block 1, in accordance with the approved site plan. <br />
