Ramsey Police Department Monthly Report <br />October 2007 <br />General Police Statistics and Highlights <br />^ 'Homicide Update <br />In April, officers responded to check the welfare of a male. Upon accessing the home <br />by officers and. family members, the male was found deceased. There was no sign of <br />foul play at the scene. An overdose of drugs and alcohol were found to be the cause of <br />death. During an investigation by the Anoka County Criminal Investigative Division, a <br />prescription bottle, in the name of the suspect, was found at the scene. The prescription <br />was for the same narcotic that was ingested by the deceased. CID submitted a request <br />for charges for 3ra Degree Homicide with the Anoka County Attorney's Office. The <br />County Attorney determined that the investigation failed to prove beyond a reasonable <br />doubt that the suspect supplied the narcotic to the deceased party, causing his subsequent <br />death. The disposition of this case is "exceptionally cleared." <br />^ Code Enforcement <br />Officers followed up on 23 ordinance violations. One citation was issued, two properties <br />are in the process of being abated by the City and five are pending (not in compliance). <br />^ Administrative Citations <br />32 administrative citations have been issued since the program was initiated this month. <br />Twenty-nine of those citations were issued for parking violations. One citation for <br />public nuisance and one for an animal violation were also issued this month. <br />^ .Animal Control <br />Five dogs were impounded in October. Four were released to their owners and one was <br />adapted. <br />-10- <br />
