~ J Ms. Boden stated they will do everything in their. power to make the events successful and worthwhile. They will use the most experienced promoters for these events and will make them very safe and enjoyable. She stated a PA system is needed even for safety. They will bring the noise volume down on the PA system and they purposefully planned the events for Saturday evenings because of the traffic concerns along Hwy 10. They have also discussed the parking and traffic plan for entering and exiting Diamonds. They did not feel this is a major issue for traffic. They are not doing a demo derby in the middle of summer; they will be doing one in spring and one in fall. They are trying to do everything they possibly can to try to limit the noise concerns. She stated Mr. Graeber has always been accommodating to the City and neighbors and it would be worthwhile to keep the business in the City because of the tax basis and the business also raises funds for benefits. She stated they will not have any trial runs but will have some fun events for children in the afternoon and to start the events around 6:00 p.m. and end by 10:30 p.m. She stated there would not be an event every weekend. Chairperson Nixt asked what he would see from Highway 10 as he drove by. Mr. Graeber showed a drawing of what the track would look like. Ms. Boden indicated the track will not be permanent; they will tear the track down the day after the event. • Commissioner Van Scoy wondered what the parcels around this were zoned. Community Development Director Trudgeon explained the different zonings around Diamonds. Commissioner Levine wondered what they needed to consider. Community Development Director Trudgeon stated the Commission needs to decide if this is an appropriate land use for the properly. Commissioner Van Scoy thought the motocross and demo derby were really focused on. Mr. Graeber stated as a .business they are looking. at this as a package with all the. events included. He stated the motocross and demo- derby will be the events that draw the largest crowds and bring. in the most money and if they look at the other events without these..two, the numbers do not add up to make it work. Commissioner Hunt stated he has been as the Anoka County Fair while the motocross has been there and he did not see a difference in noise whether he was at the event or elsewhere at the fair. He stated he liked the idea and he thought that until they had a history he found it hard to deny the application. • Commissioner Cleveland agreed with everyone that has come before them.
