Mayor Gamec stated that the comprehensive plan must be submitted by the end of 2008, so a <br />final plan will be voted on by the City Council next fall. <br />How do residents plan for garages, additions and driveways? <br />Mayor Gamec stated that residents will need to wait until it is approved or disapproved, but <br />noted that he did not feel the City Council was going to approve a road that has 59 driveway <br />accesses. <br />What is the notification process for projects in the City? <br />He stated that the City goes over and above what is required by the State and notifies all abutting <br />properties and in most cases properties that are within 300 feet of the property in question. <br />What are the projected dates for the additional road segments? <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the estimated dates are included in the Capital Improvement Plan <br />(CIP), but completion of any project depends on funding. <br />What is the timeline for the CR# 63 project? <br />Mayor Gamec stated that this road should be turned over to the City from the County sometime <br />next year. He stated that before the turn over happens; the County will upgrade the road. <br />What is the total allotment for mileage for State roads? <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the City is allowed to designate 20% of our road system as <br />MSA and the City received approximately $850,000 per year in State aid dollars. <br />What is the preferred number of driveways that can access a collector road? <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the preferred number of driveways on a collector road is zero, but <br />noted this would be almost impossible. <br />Is there a sketch plan for the remaining road segments? <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he thinks there is a fictitious line drawn in the CIP. He stated that the <br />City Council takes into consideration a lot of things when looking at road systems and this road <br />has a lot of problems as it is presented, for example, the connection point on Armstrong <br />Boulevard and the fact that there are currently 59 driveways. He stated that the line drawn on the <br />map in the CIP means that the city needs a road to go from one end to the other, but not that it <br />needs to be in that exact location. <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that he wanted to thank the residents in the audience for staying <br />involved in this process. He stated that the comprehensive plan states that the City would like an <br />east/west road connection every 2 miles.
