stated that Minneapolis and Hennepin County are having a problem with the 35W bridge <br />collapse because they are capped for all the injured parties at $1,200,000. He suggested that the <br />City could bump up our limits. from $400,000 to $1,000,000. <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted that this could be done, but it would end up being a budget issue. <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that, if there is time to make a decision, he would like to know <br />what the premium would be if the City bumped up its coverage amounts. He stated that he <br />would like to see a scale of premium rates for different limits. <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that there is time and she will get information from <br />the City's insurance agent and add this item to the December 11, 2007 City Council agenda. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Look, to table discussion of the <br />LMC-IT Waiver Form- Considering Not Waiving the Statutory Tort Limits until the December <br />11, 2007, meeting to allow time to get premium rates for the possibility of increasing the City's <br />limits. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Look, Dehen, Elvig, <br />Olson, and Strommen.
