405 Lucille Street
Fort Atkinson, WI

June 13, 1990

53538

Mr. David Hartley
City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Blvd.
Ramsey, MN 55303

Dear Mr. Hartley:

Ir is my pleasure to accept yom' offer ro join the staff of the City of Ramsey as your Fo'st
City Engineer. The professional growth offered by your city as it grows and expands is a challenge
which I eagerly accept.

As we discussed in our telephone conversation, my starting date is July 31, 1990. The compensation
option I have chosen is a beginning salary of $42,000 annually plus $1,000 moving expenses.
Additionally, as terms of my employment we agreed that I would have use of a city vehicle for travel
to and from work, exclusive of long distance travel. Upon initial employment, my work week would
be four days, allowing me to commute between Ramsey and Fort Atldnson until my family is able
to join me. Also, I understand that I may expect two weeks vacation during my first year of
employment.

Following our telephone conversation, some additional questions came to mind. What is the city
policy regarding professional education and attendance at conferences and payment for professional
organizations and registrations? Secondly, may I please have a clarification of the Minnesota Public
Employees Retirement Association plan, in particular the amount of contribution by both the city
and employee. My final inquiry is in regard to health insurance. Would my family be able to seek
medical services in Fort Atldnson and still be covered under your plan? If not, may I use the $195 a
month the city. contributes toward an HMO to extend my curr. ent.hz.~2~k ;.~z,u.-,z,'-:ce until my f-,hmily
joins me in Ramsey?

I look for~vard to beginning my new position in Ramsey and thank you and the City Council for
selecting me as your City Engineer. ,

Sincerely, , /..z/A //')
Steven J. Jankows -ki, P.E.
