<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, November 27, <br />2007, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig (arrived at 6:10 p.m.) <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Parks and Recreation Supervisor Mark Riverblood <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:38 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) City Marketing and Branding <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that the best thing that could happen surrounding the Ramsey <br />Town Center (RTC) would be for development to begin, but something the City can do before <br />this happens is work on branding. He stated that there still seems to be some confusion about <br />where the City stands on the RTC. He stated that the City of Anoka has recently hired a <br />company to deal with branding and noted that a newspaper article has been included in the <br />packet. He stated that the City Council should decide whether it would be interested in hiring a <br />consultant and, if so, whether the City should look at a broader base or narrowly focused effort <br />surrounding the RTC. He stated that if the City Council decides that it is interested in a narrow <br />focus surrounding the RTC, some interest has been expressed from Jim Deal and the Solomon <br />Group in participating in some things to boost the image and land value ofthe RTC. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / November 27, 2007 <br />Page 1 of7 <br />
