Capital Improvement Program
City of Ramsey, Minnesota
Project #
Project Name
06- PARK -013
Peltzer Park Connections
Description
Extending the access trail to the play equipment - around the cul de sac easterly to right -of -way on 148th lane.
The second connection, further to the east, would require acquisition of part of the lot presently managed by MPCA. This would allow for street,
and/or trail connections from 148th to the cul de sac of Garnet Street.
Justification
Two important trail opportunities exist relative to Peltzer Park. The first is immediately available, and consists of extending the access trail to the
play equipment - around the cul de sac easterly to right -of -way on 148th lane. This provides residents of Regency Ponds more of a direct access to
the park.
The second connection, further to the east, would require acquisition of part of the lot presently managed by MPCA. This would allow for street,
and/or trail connections from 148th to the cul de sac of Garnet. Street, and thereby improve access to both Peltzer and Alpine Parks - as well as -
provide a circuitous walking loop within these neighborhoods. (See also Savanna Trail bridge.)
Modest signage and improved landscape at Peltzer would be a benefit as well.
Revi )ec 11 /07
Expenditures
Funding Sources
Improvements Other than Build
2008 thru 2012
Contact
Department Park Improvements
Type Improvement
Useful Life 20 Years
Category Park Improvement
Priority n/a
$45,000
Total Project Cost
2008 • 2009 2010 2011 2012 Total
45,000 45,000
Total 45,000 • 45,000
2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 Total
Park Improvement Trust Fund 45,000 45,000
Total 45,000 45,000
