Capital Improvement Program
City of Ramsey, Minnesota
Project # 07 -ACQ -004
Project Name Site Acquisition for Water Treatment Plant
Description
The 2004 Comprehensive water plan identified the need for a water treatment plant to serve the water demand for the City. The plant is projected
to be required by 2010. Site acquisition should be started so that the site is available when design of the plant is authorized.
The process will include acquisition of the River bank intake and transmission line route.
The treatment plant will provide more aesthetically pleasing water, eliminate staining, reduce fouling of water softness and improve the taste and
odor of the water. With iron removed, the use of polyphosphate can be reduced or eliminated, resulting in an environmental benefit.
Justification
Revist 17/07
Expenditures
Land Acquisition 1,250,000
Funding Sources
Water Utility Fund
Total 1,250,000
2008 thru 2012
Contact
Department Site Acquisitions
Type Land
Useful Life
Category Site Acquisition
Priority n/a
Total Project Cost 51,250,000
2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 Total
1,250,000
1,250,000
2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 Total
1,250,000 1,250,000
Total 1,250,000 1,250,000.
