State law no longer allows cities to issue this type of permit... Therefore, the current language in <br />Subsection 5.07.08 "License to Cany Weapons" has been deleted in its entirety. <br />In 2006, the City Council directed the Police Chief to review and issue permits for firearms <br />hunting contrary to City Code. Prior to that time; citizens would bring their request directly to <br />Council for a special permit. The City Code currently. does not give authority to the Police Chief <br />to issue permits, however, with the adoption of .this ordinance, the City Code language would be <br />amended to grant the Police Chief this authority.
