Commissioner Brauer wondered how many cases presently they are dealing with. <br />Interim .Assistant Community Development Director Geisler stated since the abatement <br />procedure was put in place the Police Department has been dealing with a large number of these <br />situations, which they have been quite successful at. <br />Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler stated there is a process in Code <br />where people can request a hearing, and they have -had a couple of those. <br />Commissioner Van Scoy stated he would like to see how that process works. <br />Vice Chairperson Levine stated he would like to see how the whole process works before they <br />start adding a lot of other regulations. <br />Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler asked if the Commission was <br />..leaning towards not wanting to change the existing code. <br />Vice Chairperson Levine stated he was leaning that way. <br />Commissioner Brauer commended staff on the amount of time and effort they have put into this <br />but he. wondered whether it is really worth that much time and effort. He wondered if the <br />abatement process would take care of a lot of the problems. <br />Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler stated if the consensus is the <br />Commission is not in favor of making. changes to the code they could bring that forward to the <br />City Council <br />The Commission concurred that they did not want to make changes at this time and to see how <br />the abatement process goes before any changes are made to the code. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Brauer, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
