Commissioner Brauer wondered how many cases presently they are dealing with. Interim .Assistant Community Development Director Geisler stated since the abatement procedure was put in place the Police Department has been dealing with a large number of these situations, which they have been quite successful at. Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler stated there is a process in Code where people can request a hearing, and they have -had a couple of those. Commissioner Van Scoy stated he would like to see how that process works. Vice Chairperson Levine stated he would like to see how the whole process works before they start adding a lot of other regulations. Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler asked if the Commission was ..leaning towards not wanting to change the existing code. Vice Chairperson Levine stated he was leaning that way. Commissioner Brauer commended staff on the amount of time and effort they have put into this but he. wondered whether it is really worth that much time and effort. He wondered if the abatement process would take care of a lot of the problems. Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler stated if the consensus is the Commission is not in favor of making. changes to the code they could bring that forward to the City Council The Commission concurred that they did not want to make changes at this time and to see how the abatement process goes before any changes are made to the code. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Brauer, Cleveland, Hunt, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner Trites Rolle.
