~ Police Department Budget Amendments <br /> <br />Finan¢~0ffi~er Helling stated that the 1992 Adopted Budget funded overtime and standby <br />time in !h~e P~lice Department at a total of $10,400. She stated that in Chief Auspos' best <br />estimat~,;th{City will continue to experience this same rate of overtime. In addition, <br />recentlZ an e~or was discovered in the State of Minnesota's billings for CJDN (Criminal <br />Justice'~L hta Network). The error was made by the State but it has budgetary implications <br />to the C'[~ty fc~r 1992 and 1993 as the budget request was based on the billings previously <br />received from the State. The CJDN expenditure for 1992 will exceed budget by $940 and <br />will ca~ a ghortfall of $1,920 for the year 1993. <br /> <br />DiscussiOn ensued regarding overtime and equipment for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hgllin~stated that no action was necessary as this was for the Budget Committee's <br />inform~bn. - <br /> <br />Case ~4:c ' Auditing Services <br /> <br />Financ~Offi~er Helling stated that the Finance Office is behind on a number of things. <br />The RFPs ari~ still in draft form and it is getting too late in the year to attract experienced <br />auditin~ firms to bid on a new account. She recommended the City retain Malloy, <br />Karnov)~ski, Radosevich & Co. for December 31, 1992 auditing services. She stated she <br />should ~ al~e to finalize the RFPs and advertise for same by the end of January 1993. <br />Upon ifiquiry as to whether or not Mrs. Helling was happy with the current auditing <br />service,!:she ~eplied no, she was not happy with them last year because of the amount of <br />time it tOOk them to complete the audit. She explained, however, that they had just "broken <br />away" ~:go ?Out on their own. She stated they have more staff now and as far as being <br />professOhal itnd qualified, they are at the "top of the line". Mrs. Helling added that she's <br />not ~urq~ [he~ are the most reasonable firm and felt it is time to look for a new auditing <br />servlce.- <br /> <br />Motionlby Col uncilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to approve <br />the appbihtrrient of Malloy, Karnowski, Radosevich & Co., as the City's auditors for the <br />year en~ ~cember 31, 1992. <br /> <br />Motion cgrriO:t. Voting No: None. <br />Absent:'~ Cougcilmember Beyer. <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br />I. ) MUSA <br />City A~ni~trator Schroeder stated that the City got the small MUSA expansion including <br />the areart!/~ to Waltek. He stated that it's been mandated no further MUSA expansions will <br />be granl~egl the City of Ramsey until a Highway #10 Corridor Study is done. <br /> <br /> 1 <br />2) R.aml~ey/Dayton Bridge <br /> <br />City A~ini~trator Schroeder stated that the City of Dayton is now in favor of the bridge. <br />Dennis ~rg ls on the Metropolitan Council Transportation Advisory Board and he said that <br />Met Co~iricil ~ook the bridge off their agenda. Dennis Berg and E1 Tinklenberg then made a <br />motion ;it~ erase 35W South from the agenda.
