CONSENT # 9 <br />APPROVAL FOR EXEMPTION FOR A GAMBLING LICENSE FOR DUCKS <br />UNLIMITED <br />By; Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br />Background: <br />The attached application is from Ducks Unlimited for exemption from a lawful gambling license <br />to hold a raffle at Wells Catering on March 29, 2008. Ducks Unlimited meets all of the <br />requirements which allow them to remain exempt from licensing, primarily from the standpoint <br />that the commodities to be raffled are valued at less than $12,000. <br />Approval requires nothing more than a motion followed by a letter to the Gambling Control <br />Board, while if the request is denied, a formal resolution for denial would need to be prepared <br />and submitted to the Gambling Control Board. <br />Funding Source: <br />• None Required <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for Ducks <br />Unlimited to hold a raffle at Wells Catering. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to recommend Council approve the exemption from a lawful gambling license for Ducks <br />Unlimited.to hold a raffle at Wells Catering on March 29, 2008 and authorize staff to submit a <br />letter to the Gambling Control Board stating approval. <br />Reviewed By: <br />City Administrator: <br />Consent: 2-12-08 <br />
