<br />Councilmember Look stated that he feels the City should find out, if there are a limited amount <br />offunds, if the residents would like to see more open space or a community center. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Look, to table discussion of the <br />resolution regarding support of the City's effort to seek technical and financial assistance with <br />researching and evaluating the potential of a land conservation measure. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Look, Dehen, and Olson. <br />Voting No: None. Abstain: Councilmember Strommen. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />1) Meeting Schedule Requests <br /> <br />Joint Planning Commission/City Council Meeting <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that Tuesday, January 29, 2008, is an off meeting night but <br />noted that the Planning Commission would like to have a joint meeting with the City Council on <br />that night at 7:00 p.m. He would also like to suggest a work session prior to the joint meeting to <br />discuss the Highway 10 interchange design. <br /> <br />Strategic Planning Retreat <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that he would also to take a look at some possible dates for the <br />staff/City Council strategic planning retreat which is typically a Friday afternoon and Saturday <br />mormng. <br /> <br />The City Council discussed possible dates and asked City Administrator Ulrich to try to schedule <br />the retreat for February 1 st and 2nd, 2008. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that he would like everyone to devote their attention to the retreat and turn <br />off their cell phones. <br /> <br />Joint Meeting with Anoka City Council <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich reminded the City Council that the joint meeting with the Anoka City <br />Council was scheduled for Thursday, December 13,2007 at 5:30 p.m. at Greenhaven. <br /> <br />Update on the Jim Deal property <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that Kurt Martinson had attended the Truth in Taxation hearing <br />last week and announced that he was working with the County to appeal their property value. He <br />stated that they were successful and got a reduction of about $4,000,000, which will be spread <br />across the City, so there will be no difference in tax revenues for the City. <br /> <br />City Council / December 11, 2007 <br />Page 24 of 25 <br />
