Parks Supervisor Riverblood reviewed the first land acquisition they are looking at. He noted the
first parcel is twelve acres and the area to the east was proposed as park. The area shown as
proposed is primarily wetland.

Chairperson Johns asked if they recommend purchase of these parcels, would it take the funds
from another proposed project for 2008.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated that would not be staff's recommendation.

Chairperson Johns stated she would like to see some land that is open without something being
programmed on it.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood state the second land acquisition is along the Mississippi River.
This is a small parcel of land and he did not know if it would be buildable or not.

Chairperson Johns thought it would be a great idea to get this parcel ofland because it would add
to the small stops they already have along the Mississippi. She thought this was at least worth
pursumg.

Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Erickson, to direct staff to
explore the options for these two parcels for possible purchase.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Erickson, Barr,
Hansen, and LaMere. Voting No: None.
