expressed ~t~on~rn as to how it would look to the residents if the Fire Department says they will <br />not inspect tlay oares. <br /> <br />Discussion [ensured regarding inspecting business places, getting information for a pre-plan to assist <br />in fire fighting s~ould a fire occur, having a trained individual to point out the fire hazards and how <br />business o~vg~er~ may view this as more of a service if the individual was trained for the job. <br />Liability,, w~lsalso.~ . discussed and Fire' Chief' Griffin will contact City Attorney Goodrich with regard <br />to release 0fliability". <br /> <br />Boardmember Sharp inquired about how the UFC is adopted. <br />City AdmififiStraDr Schroeder stated it would have to be done by the City Council but he feels that <br />there is rea~[ y no advantage to adopting it at this time. <br />Chief Griffin w~ directed to work on a five-year plan that would include the inspector position, <br />adopting tl~ LIFC, emergency rescue, water and safety rescue, etc. and include cost estimates. <br /> <br />Chief Griffin was also instructed to put budget figures together to show what cost impact the <br />inspection ~sition would cause. <br /> <br />BOARD INPUT <br /> <br />1) MObile Data Terminals <br />Fire Chief ~fftn stated the Fire Department will be able to hook up to Mobile Data Terminals <br />through Ait0ka'County. The County will supply the hook-up and the Department will be <br />responsibl~ for ghe monthly cost of $49.00 which would be the phone bill.
