He invited Fire Fighter Wilson to come back to the Board <br />with a ~ve orrseven-year plan. <br /> <br />Case ~: Inspection Program by Fire Chief David Griffin <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that the Fire Department will begin an inspection of high or <br />potentia~Y high risk businesses that present a potential threat to fire fighting operations. He <br />stated thee specific forms used will be forwarded to the Fire Board upon completion. <br /> <br />Case #~5: Capital Purchase of a Fire Department Water Tanker <br /> <br />Chief Griffin ;stated he needs to know where the City is in regard to funds allocated for a <br />new or tised tanker truck. <br /> <br />City Adminis. trator Schroeder stated that Staff would have a pretty good idea if there are <br />any exc6Ss funds in 1992 by late November and will be asking City Council what will <br />occur w!th excess funds if there are any. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson suggested that if a "too good to pass up" deal came along, <br />possibl~the tanker could be bought with money borrowed from another fund. <br /> <br />Chief G~'iffin was directed to check into both new and used tankers and let the City Council <br />know that when ordering a new one, it'll take 18 months to get it. <br />Case #4: Medical Response to Personal Injury <br />Fire C~ef Griffin stated he would encourage that any problems, complaints, or <br />complirgents regarding the Fire Department's response to personal injuries be brought to <br />his atten~ti6n. <br /> <br />Councilgaember Peterson stated he's heard positive comments about the Fire Department's <br />respons~ and also about the relationship between the Department, City Staff and the Police <br />Department. ' <br /> <br />Case #6: Wood Stove Insurance Inspections <br /> <br />Fire Chllef Griffin disseminated a checklist of things that will be reviewed at the <br />homeow~ner's site with regard to wood stove inspections. <br /> <br />Chief G~iffin was directed to place an article about wood and fuel stoves in the Ramsey <br />Residen~ NeWsletter. <br /> <br />Case g?:~ Fax Machine Telephone Transfer Box <br /> <br />Fire Chief Gi'iffin stated he has procured a fax machine which he'd like to use for <br />transmission of all memos and time sensitive issues from the City directly to his office at <br />home. He: neezls a "Custom ringing Second Line" and a "Custom Ringing Transfer Box". <br />Motion by C0uncilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to <br />authoriz~ the Fire Chief to purchase a "Custom Ringing Transfer Box" for his phone/fax at <br />home at ~,a' price of $99.00 and also to pay the monthly charge of $4.95 for the "Custom <br />Ringing Second Line". <br /> <br />Fire Board/October 28, 1992 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
