The City has hired a new Community Development <br />Director. Amber Miller was previously the Community and Economic Development Director for <br />Marshfield, which is a city of about 18,000 people in central Wisconsin. Amber's first day with the City <br />will be March 24th. <br /> <br />City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in January and February that <br />. inay be of interest to the Planning Commission: <br /> <br />Request for Site Plan Review of Mundt Commercial Building; Case of Tri-Star Homes. The City <br />Council approved the site plan, contingent upon receipt of an easement and sufficient funds to construct <br />the Bunker Lake Blvd trail in the future. Additional landscaping to screen the loading dock area was also <br />required. <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Construct a Telecommunications Tower in Alpine Park; Case <br />of T-Mobile. The City Council approved the CUP, and directed Staff to begin revision of the Tower <br />section of City Code. <br /> <br />Moratorium on New Cell Tower Construction. The City Council also adopted a 6-month moratorium on <br />the issuance of CUPs for new cell towers, to allow for time to update the Tower section of City Code. <br /> <br />Request for an Interim Use Permit to Continue an Existing Home Occupation; Case of Carefree Home <br />Services, Inc. The City Council approved the IUP for a term of 3 years. <br /> <br />Amendments to the Sign Code. The City Council adopted the amendments to the Sign Code, which were <br />recommended for approval by the Planning Commission in December. <br /> <br />Amendments to Home Occupation Requirements in City Code. The City Council has directed Staff to <br />bring forward amendments to the Home Occupation requirements to the Planning Commission. A public <br />hearing will be scheduled for the April meeting. <br /> <br />Planning Commission vacancy. As the Commission is aware, the March Planning Commission meeting <br />will be Jessica Trites Rolle's last meeting.
