<br />a. Towers and antennas shall be designed to blend into the. surrounding <br />environment through the use of color and design, except in instances . <br />where the color is dictated by federal or state authorities such as the <br />F ederal Aviation Administration. <br /> <br />b. Commercial wireless telecommunication service towers shall be of a <br />monopole design unless the City Council determines that an <br />alternative design is preferred in cases where structural or design <br />considerations, neighborhood compatibility, location availability, or <br />the number of potential co-locations warrants this consideration. <br /> <br />c. All towers must be designed so that the tower site and setbacks will <br />contain guyed wires, debris, and the tower in the event of a collapse, <br />except towers of monopole design. <br /> <br />9.15.08 Tower Setbacks. Towers shall conform with each of the following <br />requirements: <br /> <br />88 <br /> <br />a. No part of any communication antenna or tower, equipment, guyed <br />wires, or braces shall at any time extend across or over any part of <br />the public right-of-way, public street, highway, sidewalk, or <br />recreation trail. <br /> <br />a. In Business and Industrial Zoning Districts, towers shall meet the <br />setbacks of the underlying zoning district with the exception of <br />industrial zoning districts, where towers may encroach into the side <br />or rear setback area, provided that the side or rear property line abuts <br />another non-residential zoned property and the tower does not <br />encroach upon any easements. <br /> <br />b. Towers constructed within Residential Zoning Districts shall <br />maintain a minimum setback equal to 1.5 times the height of the <br />tower from any lot line. <br /> <br />d. Towers shall not be located between a principal structure and a <br />public street, with the following exceptions: <br /> <br />1. In industrial zoning districts, towers may be placed within a <br />side yard abutting an internal industrial street. <br /> <br />2. On sites adjacent to public streets on all sides, towers may be <br />placed within a side yard abutting a local street. <br /> <br />e. The setback shall be measured between the base of the tower located <br />nearest the property line and the actual property line. <br />
