Create a plan for life-cycle recreation. <br />. Provide an element of "walkability" in Town Center development (Park system). <br /> <br />Housing <br />Goal No.5: Make progress towards attaining life cycle housing goals identified in <br />comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />Housing Focus for 2008- 2009: <br />. start at a higher end 'green' development <br /> <br />. Consider less multifamily/townhomes construction <br /> <br />. . Focus on all aspects of housing, short and long-term, rather than just trendy <br /> <br />styles. <br /> <br />. Redevelopment plan <br /> <br />2008 Short Term Goal: <br />Renew The Faith Of Our Citizens. <br /> <br />Suggested Strategies*: <br />1) Re-engage the public on big changes to the master development plan <br />(incorporate OST and Ramsey Town Center Task Force in the public <br />participation) . <br />2) Encourage community involvement - engage residents <br />3) Invest in physical image - entries & corridors <br />4) Have open, honest communication <br />5) Conduct more neighborhood informational meetings. <br />6) Reinvigorate OST. <br />7) Send clear, consistent messages from staff and council. <br />8) Allow healthy debate. <br />9) Share the facts, background more readily. <br />10) Encourage referendums at presidential elections on key issues to increase <br />participation. <br /> <br />*Most of these suggestions were proffered in the discussion regarding "overcoming obstacles". <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />-38- <br />
