He stated that after a
lengthy discussion and minor revisions, it was approved by a vote of 4-2 with one
Councilmember absent.

Acting Chairperson Max questioned if the Board needed to approve the work plan again since it
was changed.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson replied that they would not need to do that, especially
since the change was merely a formatting issue.

Acting Chairperson Max stated that he would like to hear the feedback from the group on this
Issue.

Board Member Bentz questioned if this comes up with other Boards in the City.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson replied that the other Boards respond to requests, such as
land development or park dedication fees. He advised that this Board is the only one that is
required to get formal approval of their work plan by the Council.

Board Member Bentz stated that he was surprised to see the minutes from the Council meeting
and hear that the work plan was mentioned in a newspaper article.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that this is a different Council than when the Board
was created and that the Council as a whole seems to favor the education component of the work
plan, there are some differing opinions on other focuses of the Board.

Environmental Policy Board /February 4, 2008
Page 2 of6
