I appreciate the opportunity to explain to
those citizens what activities took place at Diamonds. We basically piled a hill of snow up for local
youth and families to come to Diamonds and do some snowboarding activities and sledding. It was a
family friendly activity that brought out maybe 100-125 youth and their parents throughout the entire
weekend. There was a radio outside along with a microphone in case an announcement was.
necessary. This could not even be heard at the building which is approximately 100 feet away. In
addition, the activities were closed down at 9:30pm, which is earlier than a softball night, so the lights
wouldn't be a bother to the nearby residents.

In response to a concern by a citiZen that thought this was a Snowboarding Event that was part of
Diamonds C.U.P.. request in 2007, this was not the case. The event that was requested to be held under
a new C.U.P was a large scale snowboarding event with professional snowboarders, an outdoor PA Booth
and System installed, bleachers, advance ticket sales, and an attendance of 500-1,000 people of all ages.

In addition, I personally conversed with Several members of the Ramsey Oty staff prior to setting up the
snow hill including Kurt Ulrick, Joe TI1elen, Sylvia Frolic and City Council Members Matt Look, Dave
Jeffries, & Dave Elvig in which they all communicated to me that there shouldn't be an issue with such.a
small scale snow activity and felt that it shouldn't be necessary to apply for a special events permit.

On a final note, the two police officers that did come out on. Saturday evening felt there were no
concerns or issues that needed to be addressed and the activities seemed to be hannless and family
friendly.

I have concerns that the same residents are making complaints about my business and hindering my
business operations and violating my rights as a business owner in Ramsey. Therefore, I'd like to be
informed of such complaints with a full police report and names and addresses of those residents and for
the City to be aware that these could be the same three residents raising concerns.

Thank you for your consideration and taking the time to get a better understanding of the activities that
took place at Diamonds on March 1st & 2nd.

Gary Gruber
Owner
Diamonds Sports Bar
