The benefit would include the reduction of sediment <br />migrating onto paved City streets, thereby causing safety issues particularly for bicyclists <br />and roller bladers. Paved driveways would reduce sediment from washing into storm <br />sewers, culverts and ditches. In addition, paved driveways would improve neighborhood <br />appearance which would enhance property values. <br />Your property has been identified as one having one or more unpaved driveways. The City <br />has contacted a local blacktopping company to estimate the approximate cost for paving <br />various size driveways. These costs are summarized in the table below: <br />Enclosed is a survey to help determine what efforts the City might undertake to encourage <br />the paving of more driveways in our residential neighborhoods. Please return the survey in <br />the enclosed, stamped postcard by January 31, 2008. The results will be reviewed at the <br />February 19, 2008 Public Works Committee meeting.
