ADOPT 2008 FIVE -YEAR STRATEGIC GOALS AND 2008 WORKPLAN AND OBJECTIVES <br />By Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br />Background: <br />On February 1 & 2nd, 2008, City Council and Department Heads participated in an annual Strategic <br />Planning/Goal Setting Session. Barbara Strandell of What Works Inc. facilitated the session and has <br />provided the Council with an executive summary and full report of the planning session. One of the <br />outcomes of the Strategic Planning Session was to update and revise as needed the five -year goals and <br />develop specific performance points to be addressed in 2008 - 2009. The specific performance points <br />for 2008 -2009 have been incorporated into the 2008 Workplan and Objectives. <br />Council met in work session on March 3 to review both the proposed 2008 Goal Five-Year Goals and <br />2008 Objectives and Work Plan. With the revisions to the Goals document based upon the March 3rd <br />discussion, both of these documents (2008 —Five Year Goals and 2008 Work Plan and Objectives) are <br />included in this case and are ready for adoption.
