<br />, PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, in <br />the Alexander Ramsey Room OF the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chair/Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Mayor Thomas G. Gamec (Alternate) <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />~ouncilmember David Elvig <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurtis G. Ulrich <br />Director of Public Works/City Engineer Brian Olson <br />Assistant City Engineer Tim Himmer <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Streets Supervisor Grant Riemer <br />Utilities Supervisor John Nelson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich (arrived approx. 6:00 p.m.) <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Dehen called the. regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 5 :34 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Chairperson Dehen announced the Committee would be moving Case #2: Consider Release of <br />Inspection Escrows for Highlands at River Park to the end of the agenda so the City Attorney <br />could be present for the discussion. It was noted that Mr. Goodrich was expected to arrive about <br />6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda with the order of cases amended. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Review of Mailbox Replacement Policy <br /> <br />Streets Supervisor Riemer stated that this case involves a multiple mail box replacement request. <br />Currently the City has a policy whereby we offer $75 toward the replacement of a (single) mail <br />box. He presented some pictures of different multiplemailboxesthroughouttheCity.Mr. <br />Riemer also presented pictures showing the damage to the multiple mailboxes being discussed in <br />this case. The resident feels he should be able to claim $225 ($75. x 3) in damages because the <br /> <br />Public Works .Committee - February 19, 2008 <br />Page 1 of9 <br />
