Commissioner Levine thought these were more temporary in nature and designed to attract and <br />wondered if they should be considered a sign. <br />Commissioner Brauer agreed. <br />Chairperson Nixt felt they needed a time limit on this type of signage. <br />The Commission thought these types of attractions should be allowed four times a year, for up to <br />one week at a time. <br />Commissioner Van Scoy wondered if non - commercial speech signs, such as political signs are <br />exempted. <br />Associate Planner Dalnes stated that was correct and are regulated under the State Statute. <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked who has the administrative task of monitoring, ticketing, and <br />administrating the sign ordinance. <br />Associate Planner Dalnes stated it would be the responsibility of the Community Development <br />Department and it is not to be a police enforced action. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Trites Rolle, to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt amendments to Section 9.12 (Signs) of the City Code based on discussion. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Trites Rolle, Brauer, Cleveland, <br />Hunt, Levine, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />Case #3: Staff Update <br />Noted. <br />Case #4: Zoning Bulletin <br />Noted. <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Cleveland, to amend the agenda to <br />include Case #5, Appointment for Chair and Vice Chair of the Planning Commission for 2008. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Cleveland, Brauer, Hunt, <br />Levine, Trites Rolle and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
