Ms. Weyandt stated that they are very proud of the elegant mission statement stated that was created from, this process, "Provide innovative career and technical education to help our students and communities live and learn well." She stated that their vision statements is "A vital student and community focused institution, providing the finest career and technical education in Minnesota." She reviewed the values and goals of the ATC and noted that their partnership with District 11 in the STEP program is something that they are very proud of. She stated that currently the STEP program has 100 full time and 700 part time students and their graduation rate is 92 %. She noted that the students involved in the STEP program are from all levels and abilities. She stated that the City has been a supporter of the ATC in the past and she would like to request that this support continue. Mayor Gamec stated that he feels there is a good partnership between the City and the ATC. He stated that he knows that area businesses appreciate the education and training that the ATC provides to employees. Councilmember Elvig asked if Ms. Weyandt had noticed any benefit from the combined effort to integrate the STEP program and the college. Ms. Weyandt stated that there has definitely been a benefit, for example, sharing lab space, equipment, supplies and even, in some cases, faculty. She stated that Rochester and St. Paul are exploring similar programs. Councilmember Elvig asked if there were plans for more models like this one, for example, a national model. Ms. Weyandt stated that she hopes this can serve as a national model and noted that Mr Miliron who worked with them on their strategic planning, is a national expert in these types of partnerships. Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to direct staff to draft a letter in support of the Anoka Technical College Strategic Plan. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Olson, Jeffrey, and Look. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Dehen and Strommen. PRESENTATION - QCTV's New Web- Streaming Service - Terry O'Connell, QCTV Administrator Mr. O'Connell stated that about a year ago there was discussion about the possibility of having Council meetings available on the internet. He stated that, at that time, he didn't feel that QCTV had the authority or ability to do this.
