The City has hired a new Community Development <br />Director. Amber Miller was previously the Community and Economic Development Director for <br />Marshfield, which is a city of about 18,000 people in central Wisconsin. Amber's first day with the City <br />was March 24th, . <br /> <br />City Council Update. The following is a brief summary of actions taken in January and February that <br />may be of interest to the Planning Commission: <br /> <br />Requestfor Site Plan Review of Class C Components. The City Council approved the 15,000 square foot <br />expansion of Class C Components, a light industrial manufacturer located on Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />Request for Site Plan Review of Goodyear Service Center. The City Council approved the site plan for <br />the 7,700 square foot tire sales and service center located between Holiday and Village Bank on Highway <br />10. <br /> <br />Requestfor a Home Occupation Permit for a hair salon. The request from April Mastell for a home <br />occupation permit was approved. <br /> <br />Request for an Interim Use Permit to allow Multiple Outdoor Special Events at Diamonds. The City <br />Council approved an Interim Use Permit to allow fanners markets, flea markets, and small scale auctions <br />as part of the Interim Use Permit request. However, the City Council voted to exclude the requests for <br />larger scale events such as rodeos, bull-riding, and threshing shows, and will require special events permit <br />for those types of events. This is a one-year IUP, with the option for City Council renewal for an <br />additional year. <br /> <br />Blue Cross Blue Shield grant opportunity. Staff recently completed a proposal in response to an RFP <br />published by Blue Cross to engage in a program of Active Living promotions, programs, partnerships, <br />policy, and projects. Stay tuned for the outcome of the proposal! <br /> <br />Amendments to City Code. The new sign ordinance took effect mid-March. Also, the updated <br />regulations for kennel licenses went into effect in March. <br /> <br />Planning Commission vacancy. As the Commission is aware, the March Planning Commission meeting <br />will be Jessica Trites Rolle's last meeting. Staff is advertising the vacancy in the March/April issue ofthe <br />Ramsey Resident. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan Update.
