He stated if it makes sense for the coverage and the City and the user, why have all the
restrictions. He did not know if people would know the difference between 120 feet and 175
feet.

Chairperson Nixt thought they needed to have a consultant answer these questions because they
did not know much about this technology.

Commissioner Van Scoy asked if this applied to communication towers only or other types of
towers.

Management Intern Gladhill stated what seems to be driving this is the cell phone technology.

Commissioner Van Scoy asked if there was any discussion or inquiry about wind turbines.

Interim Assistant Community Development Director Geisler did not think this was addressed
except as an accessory to agriculture in their ordinance.

Chairperson Nixt thought this may be something for staff to contemplate, whether they are going
to regulate wind turbines or allow them.

Case #8:

Consider Selection of a Planning Commissioner for the Ramsey Working
Group; Case of City of Ramsey and the Ramsey Steering Committee

Presentation

Associate Planner DaInes stated the Ramsey3 steering committee has requested that the Planning
Commission select one additional commissioner to join a Ramsey3 Working Group.

Commission Business

Commissioner Hunt volunteered for the position.

Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Levine, to appoint Commissioner Hunt
to the Ramsey3 Working Group.

Motion Carried.
