<br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock stated on page 3, fourth paragraph from the bottom, wanted to clarify <br />what she stated. She wanted to add to correct the sentence to read "Commissioner Shryock <br />stated she thought it was extremely important to have sidewalks and have people walk more but <br />they need to look closely at putting sidewalks in at very rural certain areas in Ramsey because a <br />sidewalk may not be a Vfaste of money or aggrayation in those areas necessary in every instance." <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Erickson, seconded by Commissioner Shryock, to approve the <br />following Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes: <br /> <br />1) Park and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes dated January 10, 2008. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Erickson, Shryock, Backous, <br />and Hansen. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Barr and LaMere. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Concept Planning for Sunfish Lake Park <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated the purpose of this case is to apprise the Commission on the <br />status of the concept planning for the City owned land west of Sunfish Lake. In December of <br />2007, City Council authorized retaining the services of Brauer & Associates to assist with the <br />planning process." <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Attached to this case is the consultant's proposed contract and work plan, that appropriately <br />'parrots' the City's RFP. This document will be approved after the first meeting between staff <br />and the consultant wherein any details or understandings are refined. An example of which <br />would be under "F Owners Responsibility", number #4, where "ecological design services" <br />needs to be defined. <br /> <br />Also enclosed is the proposed project schedule. The schedule timeline is intended to reflect the <br />desire to involve the public as much as feasible, and accordingly, places the two 'Public <br />Hearings' in months before parents are involved in family vacations and youth athletic game <br />schedules. Recommendations or comments on the planning process are welcomed, but not <br />required. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock asked if the proposed project be made available to them at sometime <br />before the public comment worksessions. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated they would be but possibly not until a week before the <br />meetings. He stated they could put the maps online for residents to view. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns wondered ifthe $22,000 was an estimate or a cap on the work. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation CommissionlFebruary 14,2008 <br />Page 2 of5 <br />
