The Park ~ Re,cation Commission noted the following meeting minutes: <br /> <br />1. Pla~_ lng iand Zoning Commission meeting minutes dated November 5, 1991. <br />coMms Io usiNwss <br />Case #1: ~ R~commend to City Council Appointment of Commissioner <br /> <br />Chairperso4 Hetiand explained that as was the case in November, there is not a quorum present <br />tonight and [.t:is the general feeling of the Commissioners that a new Commission Member should <br />be approvex~ ~witll.the majority of the Commissioners present. Chairperson Hetland reminded the <br />Commissio~tcrs find Ms. Florentius that at the meeting held in December, a quorum was present, <br />however, th~ v°t~ resulted in a 2-2 tie. <br /> <br />Discussion ~nsuegt regarding participation and meeting attendance. <br /> <br />Case #2: ' Discuss L.C.M.R. Funding <br />Parks/Utilit~s coordinator Boos described the Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resource <br />Program an~ added that the L.C.M.R. Commission has a total estimated amount of $29 million. <br />He further c~scribed the proposal City Staff intends to submit. Mr. Boos asked if there were any <br />questions o~l:'deas~ re'[ garding the proposal. <br />Chairperso~Hetl~d felt the funding was worthwhile checking into, but requested clarification as <br />to what part~asqe Management has in one of the proposals. <br />Following a~ explanation of the part Waste Management has with regard to one of the prOposals, <br />the CommisSioners expressed interest in keeping abreast of the entire process. <br />Case #3: i R~,commend to City Council Use of CDBG Funds <br />Parks/Utilities Cd~ordinator Boos provided the Commission an overview of the CDBG Program. <br />He stated that ff Qity Council thought it appropriate, the CDBG Funds could be used for disability <br />sensitive tr~.S or[play structures. Mr. Boos "thurab nailed" a trail alignment on a map of Central <br />Park. He nci~tad t~.t Case #4 is related in that it also is a likely candidate for handicap accessible <br />trail and pl~r eqg,~pment. He described the status of the sanitary sewer trunk line and park <br />restoration ifl~ Rar~,~ Sey Terrace and Flintwood Hills Parks. <br />Consensus of the!Commission was that City Council consider the use of CDBG Funds for trail <br />uses and aPlff_ovafiof the described concept plan for Ramsey Terrace and Flintwood Hills Parks. <br /> <br />Case #4: ~' PlUg_pare Tentative 1992 Agendas and Schedule/Facilitate <br /> N~,ighborhood Involvement in 1992 Development in Ramsey <br /> Te~race/Flintwood Hills Park <br />Discussion r~gard!ng this subject took place along with Case #3, above. <br />Commissioner Lol ~er left the meeting at 8:33 p.m. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission/January 8, 1992 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
