He e,~plaiged the trail, the existing pond which could be used for pleasure skating in the <br />winter, spa¢.,¢ fofta softball field, the playground equipment, a small park shelter, and the fact that <br />this would all be ~andicap accessible. <br /> <br />Commissior~er Swokowski arrived. <br /> <br />Upon inquir~, Mt,. Boos stated there would be some provisions for off-street parking; however, he <br /> <br /> ,: walk to the park. <br />felt the maj~ty df the people would <br />Mr. Boos started ,tge plan is to purchase the playground equipment with Community Development <br />,,Block,,Granl~ t~und~s if it is allowed by the County. He explained that in order for the County to <br /> okay this ~urc~ase with these funds, a survey would have to be conducted and the majority of <br />households hear the park would have to be under a certain income level (under $38,000 for a <br />family of fo~jr). Iql, e asked for assistance from the residents in getting the surveys done. <br /> <br />There were ilSeveral residents in attendance from Flintwood Hills and Ramsey Terrace and all <br />appeared exerted iabout the park development and willing to assist with the survey and with the <br />actual develf0pm~nt of the park itself such as volunteer labor to erect the park shelter, etc. The <br />residents ex~r-essCd that they would like to see some street lights around the playground area. The <br />residents alsfp ask~ for an article to be published in the Ramsey Resident Newsletter detailing the <br />park plans a~d asking for resident involvement. <br /> [ <br /> <br />Case #2: .[ R~commend to City Councli Appointment to Fill Vacancy on the Park <br /> ~ an~d Recreation Commission <br />Mr. Todd COok I: <br /> w:as present and was interviewed by the Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by U~omrr[issioner Swokowski and seconded by Commissioner Florentius to recommend <br />that City Co~, ~cil!appoint Mr. Todd Cook to the Park and Recreation Commission vacancy for a <br />term expirin~ on ~ctober 31, 1993. <br />Motion carried, iVoting Yes: Chairperson Hetland, Commissioners Swokowski, Florentius, <br />Gookin, Johnson ~nd Prall.
