<br />[{\Se~ 5 <br /> <br />CONSIDER RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF RAMSEY RESIDENTS IN REGARD TO <br />PACT CHARTER SCHOOL ENROLLMENT PREFERENCE <br />By: William K. Goodrich, City Attorney <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the April 1 st, 2008 work. session of the City Council, staff was directed to prepare a resolution <br />for Council consideration that would support a PACT. Charter School enrollment. policy <br />interpretation that would favor Ramsey pupils and request consideration for Ramsey pupil <br />preference by future education providers in the City of Ramsey. Mr. Look, and his legal counsel <br />Mr. Dehen, have requested that the Council consider a resolution in support of a lawsuit filed by <br />Mr. Look against PACT Charter School regarding PACT Charter School's enrollment policy. <br />Staff has prepared the attached resolution for Council consideration. <br /> <br />PACT Charter School representatives disagree with the interpretation of Mr. Look and have <br />responded to the lawsuit as such (see attached documents).
