Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #07-11-305 RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE 2007 ANOKA HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM-CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONS, COACH PETE HAYES AND HIS STAFF, AND THE DEDICATION AND HARD WORK OF THE ANOKA-RAMSEY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the 2007 Anoka High School Boys .Soccer Team won the state boys soccer tournament to become the 2007 Class AA Boys Soccer State Champions; and WHEREAS, Pete Hayes, Head Coach of the 2007 Anoka Boys Soccer Team and his staff, accomplished a tremendous feat by prevailing in a tournament of long-standing championship teams; and WHEREAS, the commitment to excellence in athletics and academics at Anoka High School is demonstrated by this Championship Team; and WHEREAS, the seeds of this success were planted in the dedication and hard work of the families who have served the local youth athletic associations and built these athletes over the past twenty years; and WHEREAS, special recognition and appreciation is due to Bill & Kelly Casey for their dedication to and many years of work with the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby adopts this resolution commending the 2007 Anoka High School Boys Soccer Team-Class AA State Champions, Coach Pete Hayes and his staff, and the dedication and hard work of the Anoka-Ramsey Athletic Association. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Jeffrey Councilmember Dehen Councilmember Look Councilmember Olson Councilmember Strommen
