<br />Commission, EPB, Park and Recreation Board, and the Economic Authority. He stated that if <br />someone wanted to volunteer, they could then make a motion to appoint him or her and would <br />then forward the recommendation to the Council. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns questioned if anyone attended the previous meetings. She stated that she <br />attended some of them and knew that Commissioner Shryock also attended a few. <br /> <br />Commissioner Barr questioned what open space technology was. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Linton advised that it is a style of meeting. He explained that there is an intro to <br />why they are there, and then they break into groups. He advised that one group talked about not <br />extending a road into their neighborhood and one talked about decreasing speed. He stated that <br />brainstorming and discussions lasted for about 30 minutes and then there would be a break and <br />you could do another session of discussion. He explained that at the end a leader from each <br />group talks about points they had and then all the information gets put together. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated that it is a nice forum for getting a broad overview of a topic and then <br />addressing individual concerns. She explained that you get a sense of what priorities are if there <br />are 50 people in one group and two people in another. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock questioned when the meetings start. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Linton stated that he does not know when the first meeting date would be, but <br />advised that the meetings would be over the course of the next several months. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock advised that there had been talk of including the discussion from the <br />Ramsey3 working group in the comp plan as an amendment <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns nominated Commissioner Shryock as a representative from the Parks <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock stated that she would be concerned about the timeframe. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johns, seconded by Commissioner Barr, to recommend the <br />appointment of Park Commissioner Shryock to the Ramsey Working Group. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Backous, Barr, Hansen, <br />LaMere, and Shryock. Voting No: None. Absent: Erickson. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Ramsey Environmental Expo. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Linton advised that the Environmental Expo will be coming up on April 19th and <br />that the board is being asked to staff the event with the schedule being laid out in two sessions, <br />8:30 am to 10 am and 10 am to noon. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation CommissionlMarch 13, 2008 <br />Page 8 of 11 <br />
