MIDWEST CAR CARE CHALLENGES OTHER
LOCAL BUSINESSES

Last summer Midwest Car Care contacted us and wanted to
do something special and "fun for the kids" at the Ramsey
Neighborhood Center. They sponsored two special summer
activities - we brought in Underwater Adventures and the
Northern Clay Center.

This year they would like to issue a challenge to ANOKA and
ANDOVER businesses to do the same for the youth at the
Anoka and AndoverNeighborhood Centers!

Businesses can choose from a variety of programs such as
these:

$250 - Northern Clay Center, Underwater Adventures, Mad
Science, ArtScraps ScrapMobile

$400 - Critters & Co., Abrakadoodle Art Program.
: . NEIGHBORHOOD PROGRAM UPDATES

**********

ANDOVER The new Andover Neighborhood
Center is coming to 13733 Crosstown Blvd! We
have signed the lease and met with the contractor
from Meadow Creek Church. Their volunteers will
be doing the demolition and renovation of the
space to turn it into a kid-friendly center. Our
goal is to begin after~school programming after
Spring break.

ANOKA We are happy to announce that we are

the recipients of a Community Development Block I

Grant that has enabled us to purchase a home in :
I
the Highland Park Neighborhood of Anoka. The I
I
funds will be released in July and we will be able I
I
to go forward with the renovations of the "new r
I
neighborhood center". It will be nice to have a I

permanent location in our Anoka neighborhood.

RAMSEY Our Ramsey middle and high school
kids set a goal for their.2nd quarter of school that
they would, all have passing gra'des and/or
improve their grades by one letter grade. We are
happy to report that all of the kids accomplished
the goal! To reward them, we had a pizza party
for them on. February 13th. It was a great way to
challenge the kids and to help them take
responsibility for their own personal successes.
Weare very proud ofthem!
