PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramse, y:,City Council conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, February 11, 1992 to consider <br />uses for 1992 COmmunity Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds. <br /> <br />Members IResent: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members AbSent; Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present; <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley Helling <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Project Manager James Gromberg <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson called the public hearing to order at 7:31 p.m. <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Adtr!inistrator Frolik stated the City had received requests for CDBG funds from the <br />following ~ggafiizations: Family Life Mental Health Center', RISE, Inc., North Suburban <br />Consumer ~v ~OCates for the Handicapped, Inc. (NSCAH), Arc of Anoka County, Alexandra <br />House, Inc~ lqo~Xh Suburban Counseling Center, Community Emergency Assistance Program <br />(CEAP), and City of Ramsey Parks. She stated the request for the parks would provide for <br />handicapp0d~ac .oe. ssible play equipment in Park A, Flintwood Hills. Options for improvements <br />include a pl4ygi~,ound structure, swings and shelter. Ms. Frolik stated that Council will have a <br />decision reg~dilig the funds by the meeting of February 25, 1992. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Ann Gresham, Family Life Mental Health Center, summarized their organization and stated they <br />primarily s~e residents of Anoka County. This is a service for all ages and monies from the City <br />of Ramsey ~buld provide direct funding for mental health services for low income residents. <br /> <br />Jesse EllingWorth, North Suburban Consumer Advocates for the Handicapped, Inc. (NSCAH), <br />stated he is~fequesting funding to assist with disability awareness. They are working to educate <br />fourth gradgichildren about disabilities and they are also in partnership with the Easter Seals <br />people. He',ilianked the Council for appointing representatives to the NSCAH. <br /> <br />Cynthia H~x, Anoka County Community Action Program, thanked Council for its current <br />support and sta~d their representatives work with the elderly and disabled adults.
