~ Events Looking for a Way to Invest in Ramsey youth? For two days in June, 144 second and third grade children from the Anol(a - Ramsey area will attend a safety camp with presenta- tions focusing on a variety of safety topics. This camp is made possible through donations provided by local residents and businesses which helps l(eep registration fees to a minimum, as well as, provide scholarships to at risl( youth. Additionally, donations received are used to hire presenters, provide lunches, graduation awards, and other miscellaneous items needed for a successful safety camp. Donation checks can be made out to the city of Ramsey, and mailed to the Ramsey Police Department, Attn: Safety Camp, 7550 Sun- wood Dr NW, Ramsey, MN 55303. Sponsors are listed on camp brochures, the awards program, the Ramsey city website and any press releases when applicable. The dead- line for receiving donations is May 15. Time to start planning for The ear- lier you plan, the better! On Tues- day, August 5, the entire nation will be celebrat- ing National Night Out. In Ramsey, police officers, fire fighters and city officials will be out visiting local neigh- borhoods parties. Many neighborhoods host special events such as block parties, cool(outs, visits from the police and fire department, youth contests, and raffles. Planning a NNO par- ty is easy and fun to do! Ramsey Lions Community Picnic June 7, 2008 at Central Park The Ramsey Lion's Club is one of over 46,000 clubs making up Lions International. The Lions are lmown worldwide for their service; hence our motto "we serve". We are best known for our efforts in improving sight and hearing; we support the Lions Eye Banl( and the Lions Hearing Center; both are located at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Locally, we take great pride in delivering holiday food baskets to needy families in Ramsey and Bums Township. Our upcoming events include the Nowthen Tractor Pull and Swap Meet on May 10, Riverfest Festival on July 12, Gamefair parl(ing on August 8- 10, and Ramsey Happy Day's on September 13.
