Tnis <br />colfaborativeentlty includes the cities of Andover, Anoka, Ramsey, Anoka County and <br />Anoka-Hennepin School District #11. The mission of Youth First Community of Promise <br />is to mobilize individuals and collaboratives to support experiences that ensure a healthy <br />start, safe places, caring adults, marketable skills and service opportunities for young <br />people in the greater communities of Andover, Anoka and Ramsey. <br /> <br />Youth First is currently providing programs at the new Ramsey Neighborhood Center. <br />Usteci below are our current programs. Attached is a budget. <br /> <br />. . <br />After school program in Ramsey began in September. The program is offered 4 days <br />per week from 3:00-5:00. We will offer homework help and enriching activities that <br />expose kids to experiences that they might not otherwise have. We provide nutritious <br />snack, consistent caring adults, a safe place, academic help/enrichment and workto <br />develop a sense of community in the Oty of Ramsey and the Ramsey Neighborhood <br />Center. . We have begun encouraging Ramsey youth to take an active role in their <br />'community and invite the community of Ramsey to take an equally active role in its <br />youth. We will accomplish this through use of volunteers~ mentors, and collaborative <br />relationships with business, government, faith communities,.academic institutions, evic <br />groups and Ramsey residents. <br /> <br />Weare continuing to work with Community Education to establist:l the <br />Ramsey Neighborhood Center as a. pus drop off site. This wlU open up <br />our programs to aU youth in Ramsey by providing them with ~nsportation <br />to our programs. We are also wor!<ing with PACT Charter school parents <br />to increase their awareness of our programs and will continue to build a <br />relationship between PACT and Youth First. <br /> <br />We would also like to incorporate family activities into our school year <br />program.
