She then requested that case three, Sunfish Lake Park - discuss planning concepts be <br />the first case they discuss and to adjust the other cases numerically. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Erickson to approve the Park and <br />Recreation Coinmission meeting agenda for the meeting dated April 10, 2008 as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1 : <br /> <br />Consider Charitable Gambling Fund Contribution to Youth First <br />Community of Promise - Ramsey Neighborhood Center <br /> <br />This case was tabled. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Sunfish Lake Park - Discuss Planning Concepts <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood explained the purpose of this case is to begin prioritizing the <br />amenities available for the proposed park at Sunfish Lake, as well as discuss the scope of <br />development for the park. He reviewed that households and businesses within 3,000 feet of the <br />future park space were sent a letter inviting them to be a part ofthe planning process. He advised <br />that the planning for the park had been in the capital improvement program for more than 15 <br />years and stated that five years ~go the land was acquired by the City. He advised that Park <br />dedication funds had been allocated in both 2007 and 2008 towards the park's development. He <br />advised that residents have also been waiting for this park for several years. He advised that they <br />had received two calls in relation to this subject and one letter that was read by a resident tonight. <br /> <br />Jeff Schoenbauer reviewed the comments heard at the meeting last month and advised that he <br />would lead the discussion on the concept plans for the park, the neighborhood connections and <br />what additional program spaces might look like. He advised that he and staff would be meeting <br />with the City Council next week to share the progress of the project with them.
