Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that the City paper is 30 percent recycled but
advised that it does not state that on the actual paper.
Chairperson McDilda stated that they could get 100 percent recycled paper for their handouts to
be printed on. He also thought it would be a good idea to have a little icon that requests that
people recycle the handouts instead of throwing them away. He also advised that anything that
needs to be turned in to Environmental Coordinator Anderson should be turned in by the end of
this week, as he will be very busy next week with the setup for the Expo.
Board Member Freeburg stated that 80 percent of phone books are not being recycled and
questioned if they should have something at their booth about that fact or if Ace Solid Waste
could have something with that fact.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he will get that information to Ace Solid
Waste and have them incorporate it into their booth.
Chairperson McDilda requested that they do all of their handouts double sided so that they are
not wasting a lot of paper with handouts. He also questioned when people would like to staff the
booth for the Expo.
It was the consensus of the Board that Chairperson McDilda and Board Members Max, Sibilski
and Freeburg would staff the booth at 8 a.m. Board Members Bentz and Stodola would staff the
booth for the second half, until 1 p.m., and take down the booth.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he would like to get feedback from the Board
on how the event goes. He explained that it would not be as kid - friendly as it had been in the
past because they lost the opportunities that went along with the school's co- sponsorship. He
stated that he would put up a sign on Highway 10 and also at the school because inevitably
people will still go to the school for the Expo.
Chairperson McDilda questioned if there were flyers for the Expo. He explained that Board
Members could hang them up when they are out and about around town.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he did have the flyers ready and stated that he
could print off a couple copies for interested parties after the meeting.
Board Member Max stated that he is curious to find out what the feedback will be as this year
they have the opportunity to have some real seminars and educate people, beyond just sixth
graders.
Chairperson McDilda questioned if the building has an intercom system.
Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that there is and that he was planning to make an
announcement about five minutes prior to the seminars beginning He questioned if the Board
would be willing to introduce each of the speakers.
Board Member Max advised that the EPB Board Members could introduce the speakers.
Environmental Policy Board / April 7, 2008
Page 7 of 9
