She added that Mr. Schaumburg's health is such that <br />to require hhai to Plat at this point would be a hardship for him. <br /> <br />Motion by C0unailmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to adopt Resolution <br />#92-01-202 granting approval of a metes and bounds subdivision for Mr. Sidney Schaumburg. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin, Beyer and <br />Zimmerman. !voting No: None. <br />Case #10A:i Repair of Central Park Irrigation Pump <br /> <br />City Engineer Ja~kowski stated that on August 10, 1992, a City employee allowed a subcontractor <br />of ASTECH ~2o~oration (the contractor awarded the 1992 Sealcoating Program) access to the <br />Central Parl~ ~ell[ to fill the tank in the street sweeper being used to remove excess aggregate from <br />the sealcoate~ streets. The City employee gave specific instructions to the subcontractor regarding <br />the closing 0~[ho!valve, etc. The subcontractor not only closed the specified valve, but in addition <br />closed the mare valve to the irrigation system. When the preset timing for the irrigation system <br />was activat.~cl, t~ irrigation pump and motor attempted to pump against a closed valve. This <br />activity caui~ad d~tmage in the amount of $6,000 to $7,000. Mr. Jankowski stated that the pump <br />must be im~tlig~ dilitely repaired. The City's position is that the cost of the repair should be the <br />responsibili~ ofithe street sweeping contractor. He stated he would be contacting ASTECH <br />Corporation ri~ga~-ding this issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Cour!cilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to authorize <br />immediate ropai~ of the Central Park irrigation pump following notification to the ASTECH <br />Corporation, <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by 120uneilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to increase retainage <br />from ASTECH Corporation from $4, 296.17 to $11,000.00 to cover the cost of the pump repair. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
