<br />Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-05-089 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RAMSEY RESIDENT AND ANOKA HIGH SCHOOL <br />SENIOR JAKE DEITCHLER FOR HIS OUTSTANDING WRESTLING <br />ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUPPORTING HIM IN HIS QUEST FOR THE OLYMPICS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jake Deitchler (Jake), a Ramsey Resident, and graduating senior of Anoka <br />High School has accomplished outstanding achievements with regard to the sport of wrestling; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jake has won three Minnesota State Championships for Anoka and is <br />currently ranked third in the United States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jake has. been traveling all over the world and to Colorado to train at the <br />Olympic Training Center; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jake will be traveling to Las Vegas in June 2008 to try out for the Olympic <br />Wrestling Team; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received testimony from Todd Springer, Anoka High <br />School Head Wrestling Coach, that Jake not only possesses a passion for wrestling, but is an <br />outstanding student and a well-rounded, courteous, helpful, and humble individual as well. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby recognizes Jake Deitchler for his outstanding <br />wrestling achievements. Listed below are just a few of his accomplishments: <br /> <br />a) 2008 Mr. Minnesota Wrestler of the Year <br />b) 2008 Three Times State Wrestling Champion <br />c) Varsity Wrestling Record of201 wins - 34 losses <br />d) Five times Letter Winner in Wrestling <br />e) Two times Team Captain <br />f) Five times all State Wrestler <br />g) Five times All Conference Wrestler <br />h) Five times MVP Wrestler of the Year at Anoka High School <br />i) Currently Ranked 3rd in the USA at 145.5 in Greco Roman Wrestling <br /> <br />Resolution #08-05-089 <br />Page lof2 <br />
